Working with AxleCar App
Install AxleCar by copying the apk file into memory of your phone or SD card and then opening it. The app will require some permissions, after confirming which, the app installation will complete.
Step 1. Before opening the app, make sure that your bluetooth module is paired to your phone and visible in the bluetooth paired devices.
Step 2. Open the app. If bluetooth is currently off on your phone, this app will recognize it and will ask you to turn on Bluetooth (as shown in Screenshots).
Step 3. After the bluetooth is turned on, press the CONNECT button on the top left corner of the app screen. This will show you the list of bluetooth paired devices. Select the module that is attached to the robot car you currently want to work with. When your phone connects to the Bluetooth Module [Product Link], you will see the CONNECT button change to FLASH button
. If the connection fails, you will see an error message: "Unable to connect. Is the device turned on?". This is an indication to check if your Bluetooth Module [Product Link] is powered up.
Step 4. Adjust the THROTTLE slider position (up and down) on the right hand side of the app screen to control the speed of your robot. If the THROTTLE is at the top most position, your robot's motors will run at MAXIMUM speed. If the THROTTLE is at the bottom most position, your robot will stop. The THROTTLE will control the speed of the motor. For continued use, it is preferred to use the motors at 50-80% of maximum speed.
Step 5. By default your robot will move in the forward direction if your phone is perfectly parallel to the ground. This is indicated by the FORWARD ('F') button on the bottom left corner of the app screen. To run your robot in the reverse mode, press the FORWARD ('F') button, and observe it changing to REVERSE ('R'). Now your robot car can move in the reverse direction. The LEFT and RIGHT functionality of the robot still works as usual.
Step 6. You can move your robot car LEFT or RIGHT by tilting your phone in the left or right direction respectively.
Step 7. In FORWARD condition tilting the phone towards yourself will stop the robot car. Similarly it can be stopped by tilting the phone away from yourself in REVERSE condition.
Step 8. Pressing FLASH button will work as an emergency stop condition and will change to STOPPED button .
Step 9. Long pressing FLASH or STOPPED button will immediately disconnect the bluetooth connection between the phone and the module [Product Link].
